Writing around the idea that baseball is a game slightly ahead of its time. A 'simple' game the qualities of which include physical and metaphysical paradoxes: the two dimensional diamond with-in the sphere; the struggle between individuals with-in a complex group dynamic.
Baseball is like a school of the Socratic method: it asks questions - the consideration of which lead to more questions - a process that illuminates a path towards critical thought.
